Section 174
Can take the help of a translator
(1) If the statement of an accused or a witness who does not understand or cannot speak the Nepali language needs to be taken, or if necessary for any other purpose, the investigating officer, the prosecutor or the court may take the help of a translator of the relevant language or sign language.
(2) According to sub-section (1), the Nepal government will bear the expenses incurred in taking the help of the translator.
